I started looking into blender trying to import tracked 3d models into after effects but its just way too complicated. Please adobe do something about the 3d issue disussed on this thread. I hope this year they focus on some connection between dimension and after effects.

Fbx to ae can be used to import one or more animated 3d cameras and reference solids from the fbx format file into after effects. I don t normally work with 3d files. Import 3d models you can also import models by clicking the top left import button in the element scene setup and selecting obj or c4d files.
